RCD Testing
RCD testing is available from Electron Test & Tag for both portable and fixed RCDs, which are more commonly called Safety Switches. he more frequent name for these. To accurately test both the RCD Times and the RCD Ramp Currents, our certified technicians use an RCD Test instrument.
When a harmful scenario occurs, the RCD Trip Time is a measurement of how long it takes the RCD to respond. The RCD Test Instrument creates a fault simulation and records the RCD’s operating time in milliseconds. As a result, this test shows how rapidly the RCD will react in a harmful circumstance. RCDs typically respond in less than 30 milliseconds, however up to 40 milliseconds is acceptable in some cases.
An RCD will typically fail over time, and the Australian Standards mandate that they be tested on a regular basis. This comprises of testing by qualified technicians, using our calibrated test instruments on a regular basis.
